B i o g r a p h y

I grew up in Seattle, Wa, USA. As long as I can remember, I've wanted to play music. I used to watch my brother's band practice. So, at 10 years of age, I took drum lessons. Then keyboards at 13, guitar at 15. When I graduated from high school, I used the money I'd saved to buy (no, not a car) studio time. I was actually the last person to record at American Music in Seattle before they shut down the recording studio.

I play all the instruments - guitars, bass, keys, drums, percussion, recorder, and vocals - though I occasionally have guest musicians. I compose all, or most, of the music and lyrics.

I try to p[ay a variety - fast, slow, vocal, instrumental, electric, acoustic, etc. I also try to play a variety of styles - rock, blues, jazz, new age, even country - but progressive rock is where my heart is. My main influences are Genesis, Yes, Camel, Renaissance, Mike Oldfield, Kate Bush, Flower Kings, and Cirrus Bay, among many others. My inspirations are life, nature, friends, things spiritual, and things romantic. I may get lyrically heavy at times, but ultimately, I try to be optimistic. I have been in different bands over the years, but seem to come back to doing it all in a studio setting, recording everything in my home.
